A smart, curious and FUN must-listen
I’ve been a fan of PJ Vogt since his Reply All days, and Search Engine feels like the natural evolution of what made that show so special. The storytelling is sharp, often funny, and always driven by a genuine curiosity that reminds me of what I love about This American Life. While the topics are loosely tech-themed, PJ’s easy laugh and open-minded approach make even the most complex or oddball questions feel approachable. The journalistic standards are high without feeling heavy. I miss hearing Sruthi Pinnamaneni in the episodes, but I’m glad to know she’s still a big force behind the scenes. And a special shoutout to the theme music—stylish and memorable, in the spirit of Mad Men or Succession. A must-listen!

A throwback to the golden era of podcasts
One of the few podcasts that captures the whimsy, delight, and spirit of intellectual play the Internet used to be full of, before everything became AI-generated SEO cruft. A gem that does real journalism in a smart, generous, and joyful way. Truly worth a listen.

Interesting, strong writer's voice

Big fan
Love the podcast, love PJ Vogt's voice, love recommending this podcast! Go listen :) not every episode is a star, but overall it's quite good, and that's what I'm used to from most solid podcasts. Maybe run an environmental episode? Something relating to climate change and what we can actually do versus not do to make somewhat of a difference.

Simple concept, excellent execution
This fantastically simple concept of answering random questions one might Google is executed beautifully by Search Engine. I learned about the show from Death, Sex, & Money and haven’t stopped listening. PJ is a very talented podcaster who feels like an old friend taking you down the rabbit hole of our collective minds.
