How happy was I to find this podcast and realize I could get the old, “Reply All” feels back, thanks to PJ! Gimlet gruesomely destroyed the old show, to the point I couldn’t even listen anymore. I walked away and tried to forget all the good times we had. It was too painful. Even Alex seemed checked out once PJ left, but I understand his need to collect the coin and pay bills, even when the revamped show was a pile of sell-out crap. Thank you PJ for starting anew!

The most fascinating stories told by the highest caliber of audio journalists and producers. My favorite episode so far is “What is it like to slowly go blind?”

I’m a huge fan of PJ and Shruti from their time on Reply All. There was a huge hole in my life when Reply All ended. I’m so glad that I get to hear their perspective again in Search Engine, which is really wonderful evolution for the two of them. Their content is some of the most thoughtful and well researched content on interwebs. They’re also amazing story tellers. They have a special talent for dissecting and peeling back the layers of a story. I don’t think it’s overly broad to say world is a better place when they’re sharing their perspective with us. I know for sure that I’m a better person for having listened to and contemplated their perspective.

PJ has a way of making any story…interesting! Whenever a new episode is released it makes me feel like Christmas morning. He is authentic…and hopefully if PJ reads this review it doesn’t cause him to stress out because he simply needs to keep doing what is his doing. He’s a natural!

When my podcast queue backs up and I get to select what to listen to first, I almost always select Search Engine. The variety of stories never fail to entertain. I can’t wait to hear what is next.

Been my favorite podcast since I stumbled across it. I listened to the ones that looked good, then the ones I didn’t think I’d like, but turned out I loved, then I was convinced enough to listen to the cryptocurrency ones, which again (against all expectations as to topic) I loved. Very human, very surprising, funny & heartfelt, smart.

I’ve loved PJ since the early Reply-All days. His specific brand of storytelling and the personality and heart he injects into each episode makes even topics I wouldn’t normally have an interest in so intriguing. Crypto Island was good but I love the change to Search Engine with its wide variety of topics.

PJ Vogt was born to be a podcaster. This series builds on and continues what I’d been missing since Reply All.

Always enjoyed PJ on Reply All, so I was very happy when I found Search Engine. I have listened to all the episodes so far—enjoy the unique approach.

The host is perceptive and the way he weaves storytelling into the interviews is creative and tastefully executed. I needed a new podcast that was different and original and this is it. Highly recommend.

I have been enjoying this show very much. Especially the one on stimulant drugs for ADHD. PJs reporting is immaculate, thoughtful and really fun to listen to. A breath of fresh air.

Since back in the TL;DR days and through Reply All, I’ve loved the vaguely internet-adjacent stories that PJ and crew have been creating. Search Engine is more greatness in that same vein. The way PJ brings the listener along the journey with him is one that to me always feels like that learning and discovery sensation which is so satisfying. Keep making great stuff, please!

The pacing and scope are beautiful. PJ is really good at describing things. The theme song is gorgeous.
